MmmmmmMidSummer

A fun, relaxing, nourishing MidSummer celebration:
Beans & Greens - bitter dandelion greens cooked with creamy white beans
Sauteed Summer Squash - phallic baby zukes & yellow squash suns
Balcony Herb Salad - cilantro, basil, chives, thyme, tossed with pea shoots, with a dollop of Veganaise
Coconut milk ice cream filled mochi - flavored with mango
Sparkling water

We cooked it, we ate it, it was vegan, it was delectable!
While we watched 7 Dwarves or 7 Zwerge. Get ahold of this one. It is a lovely re-telling of Snow White with dollops of other fairy tales thrown in. In German with English subtitles, but they are easy to follow. It is just a lovable, pretty, silly movie with fantastic sets & lots of weiner jokes. Do see!

  1. Mmmm, that meal sounds delicious! Don't you just love the look of fresh squash blossoms! They are both enchanting and exotic at the same time. :)

  2. Yes, I love squash, esp now that I don't have a big garden and the plethora of squash to use up...I used to make pickled squash, squash casseroles, squash bread, whip it in the salsa, squash calzone...mmm...they were quite something actually.

What's also nifty is that Veganaise tastes better than eggy mayo!

  4. Hello there...so nice to make your acquaintance! The description of your MidSummer meal is making my mouth water! How absolutely delightful that sounds! And I have to comment on your gorgeous new kitten too! The markings are just lovely...what a precious thing. I want her! Although I have one that is spoiled rotten and thinks she's half dog. Don't know if I could handle two of them. Sounds like you have your hands full! :o)

  5. Hi Wendy! Kitsune has just enchanted me. So much so that I give her human food sometimes, because she's a freak about it...I have resisted the charms of all of other kitties who wanted me to do this before. But she likes bread. Bread! A kitten who eats bread.

7 Dwarves is streamable on Netflix, too, if anyone is reading this. :)
