Winner!

Thanks to all who threw their names & favorite Major Arcana in the ring. Always interesting to hear who favors what card. I am a fan of The Magician, especially in the Paulina deck:

But enough about me, let's get to Renee of the Fae, the winner! On her blog, The Woman I Want to Be, she has been chronicling her dream journeys after dousing herself with mugwort tea. Go have a look, and R of the F, please let me know your mailing address.

Congratulations to Renee of the Fae from The Wizardess

Been cleaning & organizing, and some of my stuff needs liberating! Please comment below to enter in the give-away, including a way to contact you if you don't have a public Blogger profile or blog. The stuff:
Tarot of the Vampires Deck & Phantasmagoria by Ian Daniels

Tall Dark Stranger: Tarot for Love & Romance by Corrine Kenner

Both are in excellent condition, and have some truly terrific bits, but I'm feeling a great loyalty to my Paulina decks & I just don't use them anymore!  (To be clear, the Vampire is deck + book, the Tall Dark Stranger is just the book. As far as I know, there's no particular deck associated with it. Kenner interprets via the classic Rider-Waite images.) To enter, leave a comment below telling me your favorite Major Arcana card.  I will draw the winner on Friday, January 20th, so commence commenting!

Paulina Cassidy found my Youtube!

And she likes it! I did this little video to promote my gigs on Fiverr, but found that is was too long to upload. I get the occasional comment on it, but Paulina posted it on her Facebook. The ultimate approval!
Go look at it right now before her Wall gets cluttered up with less important things! http://www.facebook.com/paulinacassidyart

It's there, really! But it's also here, on my Youtube channel:

2012 Tarot!

Using my handy dandy brand new Joie de Vivre Tarot by Paulina Cassidy, I drew a card for the Year.
Ta-da!

This is the wish card: material wealth, wish fulfillment, satisfaction, happiness & good family relations. Paulina's keywords in the LWB for the deck are happiness, confidence, health, triumph & abundance. Sounds pretty good to me!

My Major Arcana card for the Year is The Hermit. This is apt because it will be a much more scholarly year for me. I don't really want to become too isolated, though. Here tis from the Joie de Vivre:
If you are interested in this deck, don't worry about the keyword at the bottom. It is not printed on the actual cards themselves, just on the images on Paulina's website. The cards DO have a copyright symbol from US Games on them. It's small, but I find it a bit irksome.

To find your Major Arcana for the Year, add together your birthdate numbers: 6 + 25 for me, then add all the digits of 2012, then add together & reduce to a single digit. The Hermit is number 9. If you write the card down now, then just add one for the next year, and bob's your uncle!

Joie de Vivre Deck closer!

Paulina Cassidy will soon present the world with a new Tarot deck: the Joie de Vivre. Bright, light & fun. Above is her Facebook pic of the proofs...she says they look great and she gave them Final Approval last week. I imagine I will imbibe in a purchase. However, I have been lusting after the Medieval Scapini cards as well! Good to have a wish list. Here's The Magician, my card numerologically & other ways.

Help me, intuitive peoples

Recently, I did a 'Gift Spread' with my Paulina Tarot for myself. This is a simple 2 card spread, where card 1 is 'What You Have to Give to the World' and card 2 is 'What You are Open to Receive'.  For 'What I Have to Give', I drew:
This card, about bringing good news to people and intellectual pursuits, makes perfect sense for what I have to give, especially considering my career and where I want to go in future. However, I am a bit confused about my Card 2 - 'What I'm Open to Receive':
Now, I love this card & its imagery; it's the Alchemy card! And of course, it's an obvious message about moderation...but this is what I'm open to receive? Maybe it's about balance, since I think about that a lot...but I am in a perplexicated state. Anyone have any ideas?

What's Paulina Cassidy up to?

You may remember that I read Tarot with the Paulina Cassidy deck published in 2009. I like to check Paulina's site every now & again to see what's new. Jackpot! Paulina is working on a Witchling Deck: 40 cards with a book of 150 spells. Here are 2 example cards:

They are cheerful & sweet. Might be a great gift for a young witch. No release date yet for them.

Then there is her Faerie Guidance Deck, a 40 card deck that will be published by Llewellyn in September 2012. A preview is coming, but it's not on her site yet. Can't wait to see!

Paulina's Joie de Vivre Tarot is finished, but no release date yet. You can buy the originals on her site. When she started this deck, I didn't think I'd like it nearly as well as the first deck. However, I have been won over. The whole deck has a completely different vibe...which I bet is the intention. I love these example cards:

When your Knight of Wands is a dancing alligator, how can you go wrong?

Here is the High Priestess

Sweet, no?
After the research is finished on this new (old) Waite deck, it will be published. If this card is anything to go on, it will be divine. I had a good & entertaining class with Marcus Katz online yesterday. Mary K. Greer was a participant!

Tarot Night!

I went to a local metaphysical shop for Tarot Practice Night. Fun & free! Most of the other people there had much more experience with the cards than I, and all were helpful and informative. I like other Witches/Wiccans! (Although there were all sorts there; all seemed bright & nice.) We had one person draw a card, then everyone there gave a quick read for her/him based on that card. Seems as if you have to just jump in with Tarot & let it flow, which is good for me because IN NO WAY do I know what all 78 cards mean yet! However, one older woman who did great readings for everyone else told me my take on her card was right on. Beginner's intuition!

My Tarot was designed by Paulina Cassidy, and it is richly detailed and exquisitely beautiful. It is not bright, so it's not an obvious deck, but I am loving it more each day.
