Amber, fossilized tree resin, is the oldest "gem" used for adornment & magic. Jet, fossilized coal, is also pretty darn old. My own amber necklace simply feels good to wear. It should touch your skin for maximum benefit. Since it's a resin, it is very light, and has nice smoothness; and yet, it doesn't feel at all like plastic. The description "solidified sunlight" gets it right!
Interesting that both are fossilized forms of energy (tree sap and coal)! Thanks for the info!

ReplyDeleteI was given a lovely amber pendant a few years ago for Christmas by Gauis' grandmother with a bit of plant material trapped inside. I've never worn it because I don't have a suitable chain for it, but I do love looking at it :)
