Coral is sometimes understood metaphysically as the ocean's menstrual blood--or the collective menstrual blood of mermaids--with great potential for healing and protection.
Wear smooth coral beads or charms, ideally red, near the groin area to stabilize and regulate menstrual flow and ease discomfort or pain.
Oshun's Women's Healing Spell
Depending on the legend, Oshun is either Yemaya's daughter or sister. She specifically has dominion over the abdominal area, including all female reproductive organs. Petition her for healing. Offer Oshun a glass of pure spring water and a dish of honey, tasting the honey before giving to her. Light five golden candles and request her assistance.
Hmmm... I'll have to give these a try as soon as my moon time comes around. Thanks for sharing these! ^-^
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!!! I'm just starting to get comfortable talking about menstruation as a Pagan (Thanks Catholic guilt! You strike again!) and I'm thankful that I have such a friendly and helpful online community. My doctor just hands me pills (which do nothing) and I lay in bed for a week. I should probably share my story on my blog and explain why I'm always in so much pain.
ReplyDeleteCoral as the collective menstrual blood of mermaids -- nice. Never heard that mythopoetic analogy before!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping when we go to the beach in Sept that mother nature spares me and I will not have my moon day then It would so suck If so I guess I wil have to pick up some coral or take my honey with me wink OMG and find me some gold candels LOve the posts about moon tiem very educational We were never aloud to talk about that stuff was considered taboo
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I'm thinking maybe I will introduce a Bloody Sunday post then, that will always be about menstruation. There is just so much info to impart. Not the least of which is about 200 spells involving m. blood or the vadge in Judika Illes's big spell book.
