The Advocate (1993) is a really lovely, sexy movie with a hot Romany character; she gets to make the beast with two backs with Colin Firth, a medieval lawyer type who gets mixed up in mysterious doings when he ventures into the country to take a job. Plus! Ian Holm. Plenty of funny bits, too.
It's definitely R-rated, and it's excellent visual storytelling. Firth's costuming is slightly off, but it's streamable on Netflix, and I can't think of a better way to indulge some Gypsy Dreams than by drifting into this medieval world. Get ahold of it!
